Some things to consider when ordering ropes from DirectLoop.
* In terms of Lay (firmness or stiffness) our ropes tend to be on the softer side. So if you have not used one of our ropes keep that in mind.
* Kick: This is determined when we coil your rope for the very first time. Kick or flair as it is sometimes called, determines how the rope will swing. Straight kick or no kick makes the rope harder to swing and will have a tendency to back swing (not recommended for most ropers) Medium kick will usually work for 90% of all ropers. Extra kick will make the rope easier to swing and enable the rope to turn over correctly.

If a new rope does not have any kick or flair, it probably will not swing correctly. The softer the rope, the more kick it should have.
To check the kick or flair in your new rope simply undo the twist ties and let it hang directly in front of you with the loop hanging. The loop should turn to the right. If it hangs straight down or to the left, it will most likely have a back swing.
